Rolex Daytona Reference 6263 FAP Peruvian Air Force Unpolished

Rolex Daytona Reference 6263 FAP Peruvian Air Force Unpolished

This Rolex Daytona Reference 6263 is one of the best examples I have ever seen. The dial is spectacular and the lume plots remain fully intact, which is rare for vintage Daytonas. The hands and dial have a nice warm lume. It features correct Mark II screw-down pushers. It is paired on what appears to be the original 78350 Oyster bracelet with 571 end links. The case is ridiculously crisp and unpolished. It features its original rare “Mark 1” acrylic bezel, which is in strong condition.

The Peruvian Air Force ordered a small number of Daytonas in the 1970s and they say “FUERZA AREA DEL PERÚ” around the edge and opposite of that on the other edge of the case back is a number assigned to the watch, which in this case is 488.

This watch has a 4.01 million case serial number dating to circa 1975. It is powered by the manual-wind movement Caliber 727 made by Valjoux and is 37mm in diameter.
