Rolex Paul Newman Daytona Reference 6239 Unpolished

This is a rare Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona Reference 6239 with a spectacular white dial. The first “Paul Newman” exotic dials we see on the Daytona reference 6239 are in the 1.6M range. From my experience, those are all black. Starting at the 1.7M serial range, we see white-dial “Paul Newmans” like the one Paul himself wore which was slightly later 2.005M serial that went for $17.8M at auction in October 2017.

Overall, you could dedicate years looking for a beautiful early “Paul Newman'“ dial like the present example. It is just not something you can find or source. We believe the case is unpolished. It is truly one of the most exceptional “Paul Newman” Daytona examples I’ve held. The serial number is 1.78 million. The later and earlier examples had white gold exposed hands at the post. The all white register hands give it a sportier look.

We do not know the service history, but it is running well. The watch does not with box and papers. It was just pressure tested and passed a water resistant test of 3 bar.

Rolex "Big Red" Daytona Reference 6265

I’m excited to offer another awesome Rolex Daytona reference 6265. This particular example features the earlier floating “Big Red” dial which commands attention upon first glance. The luminous plots on the dial remain intact, which is oftentimes not the case as these would be susceptible to damage during service. This watch is from circa 1978, with a serial number in the 5.2 million range.

The case is lightly polished, but has maintained a strong form. It features the original Mark 2 pushers and measures 37mm in diameter. It is paired on its original US made C+I bracelet for Rolex (also dating to 1978). The movement is a manual wind calibre 727 made by Valjoux.

The watch does not come with box and papers.
