Rolex made for Ford Motor Company Executives
I cant get enough of this 1968 Rolex (15037) that I found on Facebook of all places. Scrolling down through some recent posts, I saw the green Rolex box and something on the case back you likely haven’t seen before – a Ford oval engraving on the back.
Filled with excitement and curiosity, I continued scrolling through the images, and this particular Ford example has the original request letter from the Merchandising manager of Ford, DeWayne Lancaster, to Rolex, requesting a limited run of these “Special Edition Rolex Watch.” The motivation behind this request was to “obtain a unique incentive award capable of being used in their dealerships to motivate extra effort from their management personnel.” How cool is that!?
Now that you know this is a legitimate Rolex made for Ford, you can now admire the specifically selected blue dial that matches the blue found on the Ford symbols. It also features 10 diamonds for the hour markers. To make this 14K yellow gold time piece, it was suggested that it would cost $5,500 to make. This under-the-radar Rolex is not one to pass up, especially with it having the original Ford documentation for some extra provenance confirmation, being in great condition, and only managing to find a few examples online.
Like all Fords, this is built Rolex Tough.

Mother’s Day Omega, 1974
With Mother’s day just around the corner, I have found this very cool 1974 Omega advertisement that is aimed at the hopes of purchasing an omega timepieces for all the lovely mothers out there; truthfully, they all deserve one and so much more. I was not able to find anything similar online, but I can’t imagine why anyone would want to replicate this.
You can find it here, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and future mothers out there!
Movado Saint Christopher
Saint Christopher is the patron saint of travelers. It is said that he was a Canaanite, an individual who lived in Cannan the now region of countries which include Israel, Palestine, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. Although non-Western accounts cite his home region as Marmarica.
Famous depictions of Saint Christopher include Hieronymus Bosch’s late 15th-century painting ‘St. Christopher Carrying the Christ Child’ which is currently on view at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.
As in the sterling-silver Movado case, Saint Christopher is most often depicted carrying the Christ Child over his back within the water.

Hamilton 31mm 14K Automatic Wristwatch 25 Yrs Service Beechcraft Award
Up next is a 1966 Hamilton gifted to a J. J. Fisher, an employee for Beechcraft Aircraft Company for 25-years of loyalty and service. The case is 31mm and is made of solid 14K yellow gold and appears to be unpolished and in great condition. The original dial is in just as good of condition and features raised golden embossed hour markers, spelling out “Beechcraft” with the 12 and 6 hours remaining to make for a lovely touch of symmetry. You can find many watchmakers who would do this for various companies or people who had the appropriate number of letters that could replace the hour markers with letters.
Aside from the watch itself, I love the attention Hamilton had when putting together this gift. Placed on the box, they had stickers with each employees name and a sticker for the company’s name. I find that to be a beautiful touch, or a memento if you will, that makes for a more personalized gift to those receiving this watch.
This a great watch in running condition that can be worn by both male and females. You can find it here!
1970's LeCoultre “Egg” Memovox
It would be an uneasy task to state you could not find a Memovox that you couldn’t liked since there are a great deal of models and variations created by JLC, with the Memovox being first introduced in 1950.
This is the reference 3072, also known as the "Egg" which should be self-explanatory, was created in 1972 and promises for HPG (High Precision Guaranteed). Of the various models and variations, this one is the rut of the bunch. Its quirky shape and eclectic colors are funky, but you cant help but love it. I enjoy the dials contrasting design; hints of baby blue, dark navy, yellow inner-hour markers and and bright orange at the 6 and 12.
This example looks to have been lightly polished in the past, but seems to be in all original condition and is stated by the seller that it has been keeping time.
You can find this Memovox on ebay as an auction which ends Monday morning.

Does this Juvenia look Familiar?
Does this look Juvenia with a Spillman case look familiar to you? If not, you should look at my previous What’s Selling Where write-up and you will see that this was listed a few weeks ago on a not so well known auction site, selling for $2,136 – went for stupid cheap in my opinion! It has since been relisted on eBay as auction and includes better photos this time!
This spectacular Juvenia ends on Saturday – Find it here!
Patek Philippe Box
I am including this vintage Patek box simply as a reminder that sometimes you may have to intentionally search for the anticipated misspelling of the word Patek to find good deals online. In this example, it is likely an autocorrect mistake, switching the correct and intended word, Patek, for the incorrect word, Patel. I have also found many legitimate finds where the seller has spelt it as “Pateck”. Just a little secret you can try for yourself. Let me know if you find anything using this method!
You can find this Patek box on ebay here for $255.
Rolex Cellini Brochure
I personally have never been a fan of the Cellini lineup, but it will be interesting to see what Rolex will do with the Cellini being discontinued this year. Maybe replace it with something new and creative for a change?
You can find this 1989 Cellini brochure on eBay for $98 or best offer.
Rolex and a Time of Vibrancy
In this brochure, Rolex compares these special pieces with the Hispano-suiza, a custom made automobile made in Barcelona under the patronage of King Alfonso of Spain. The Hispano-suiza was recognized for its supremely high standards employed in the making of their vehicle and Rolex compares that with the making of these stunning dials and solid 18K gold cases and bracelets.
It is difficult to argue the significant increase in prices we have seen over the past few years for these pieces because they are unarguably stunning. Unfortunately, I do not see owning one anytime soon. For now, I will enjoy this brochure.
You can find this brochure on ebay for $88 or best offer.
1950s External & Internal Rolex Boxes
This is a pretty sweet 1950s Rolex set of inner and outer boxes. What I enjoy most about this inner box is its pale blue color which would seem very atypical if all you’ve ever seen was the common dark green colored boxes that became the trademark color for Rolex starting in the 1960s for most models.
For it being over 70 years old, the condition is in remarkable shape. I was unable to find many examples of this exact box and to what model this would belong to. If you find out, please let me know!
You can find this box on eBay for $369 or best offer here!
