Vintage Breguet Wristwatch

In the context of vintage, every Breguet wristwatch is special. This 18K gold wristwatch from the 1960s is no exception. The watch is very striking on first impression with an fantastically intricate engine turned dial. The textured Clous de Paris is met with a thin woven-like fish scale line that segments the slightly raised smooth surface which highlights the painted Roman numerals. The exterior smooth dial surface indicating the round minute markers is intervened by an even thinner grain texture. Only fitting for the traditional brand, the timepiece features the highly refined Breguet hands.

Beyond the ornately decorated dial, the case is incredibly elegant. The gold has developed a slightly purple patina from years of oxidation which emphasizes that the watch never “cleaned” of the beautiful touch bestowed by nature. The smooth bezel is accented by a grooved edge that intermediates the channel set coin edge profile.

The ruby cabochon crown is a subtle touch of class and the smooth winding of the crown is something that you have to experience to appreciate. The watch is accompanied by its original buckle bearing strongly preserved hallmarks. The same can be seen within the screwed-in caseback featuring two eagle beaks to acknowledge the gold case was made in France.

The case dimensions are 30mm x 30mm caseback is numbered with 1617.
