Gallet Flight Officer “Exotic”

This is an incredible example of the rare Gallet Flight Officer (also described as “Flying Officer”) from the 1940s with a rare and unusual orange lacquer on the dial that I would describe as an “Exotic” example. These were among the first The watch is unpolished and in as-found condition. It was purchased from a pawn shop in Missouri and I wonder whether it is one of the watches that was worn by a member of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen “Red Tails” as some were reported to have been.

This watch does not include the original box and papers, has a manual-wind movement (Caliber 150 made by Venus), and is 34.5mm in diameter.
