Heuer Autavia “Jochen Rindt” Reference 2446

The Heuer Autavia is recognized by collectors as one of the great sports chronographs of the 1960s. Along with many of its contemporaries of the era, it is powered by the Valjoux 72. Nicknamed the “Jochen Rindt” for its association with the German Formula One driver, the reference 2446 is regarded as one of the great Heuer racing chronographs.

This example is the second generation case of the Autavia which was introduced from 1967-1969. The lugs are a very fluid design, tapering down toward the wrist with thinner, beveled lugs (as opposed to the beefier non-beveled lugs found on the 1st generation, the It is unpolished and maintains its true structure. The dimensions are 38mm with a height of 13mm.

The dial is in beautiful condition and is breathtaking to witness in the sunlight. The texture of the dial coincides perfectly with the grey calfskin Wind Vintage strap it has been paired with.
