LeCoultre reference 224115 Chronograph “Breguet Numerals”

This is an extremely rare LeCoultre chronograph reference 224115 in steel with incredible Breguet numerals on the non-luminous dial made by Universal Genève for LeCoultre for the American market. LeCoultre was the American brand for Jaeger-LeCoultre. The case has unusual lugs with facets on the end somewhat resembling a flat-head screwdriver. To the best of our knowledge, this is only the second known example of this watch known to the market, with the other being in the collection of Zaf Basha and featured in his Jaeger-LeCoultre book on page 79. The case is in unpolished condition with an unrestored dial that shows a little patina on the dial near the crown at 3:00, I am presuming from slight water ingress in the past. I feel this is a Museum-worthy piece that probably belongs in the Jaeger-LeCoultre museum if they don’t already have one, and could be a worthy subject of a reedition by the storied company.

This watch does not include the original box and papers, has a manual-wind movement (Caliber 285 made by Universal Genève), and is 35mm in diameter.
