LeCoultre Polaris reference E859 with Box and Papers
The Polaris is a legendary watch made by Jaeger-LeCoultre starting in 1965. This is the 1967/1968 version with more aggressive lume and this dial is signed simple “LeCoultre” for the American market. The European market had a version with the dial signed Jaeger-LeCoultre. The dial on this watch has turned an amazing tropical brown color. It also features the extremely rare and desirable 22mm bracelet made by J.B. Champion in the United States. I would say it is the nicest example of a Polaris I have been fortunate enough to handle.
This watch is from circa 1968, includes associated box and papers, Extract from the Archives of Jaeger-LeCoultre, has an automatic movement (Caliber K825 made by Jaeger LeCoultre), and is 42mm in diameter.
