Omega Speedmaster “Speedy Moon” ST 3450809

The present watch is notable for several reasons including its unbelievably mint condition, the fact it was selected to be profiled and detailed in depth in the legendary book “Moonwatch Only” (pages 336-337), and the fact it was part of the famous Christie’s OMEGA Speedmaster auction in 2015. Reference ST 3450809 was the first Speedmaster model to be produced with moon phases. OMEGA produced only approximately 1,300 examples of this reference for three years between 1985 and 1988. This watch is fitted with a modification of the celebrated caliber 861, named the caliber 866, that includes a moon phase and date complications. The present watch is made more superior by maintaining its original bracelet, which indicates that it was produced towards the start of production of this reference. These early bracelets are highly rare and incredibly sought after by collectors. This reference was later replaced with the bracelet stamped 1450/808. The watch includes the Extract from the Archives of OMEGA noting it was manufactured in 1986 and delivered to Japan. It also includes an original red OMEGA box.

This watch does not include the original box and papers, has a manual-wind movement (Caliber 866 made by Lemania), and is 42mm in diameter.
