OMEGA Speedmaster "Tintin" Reference 311.30.42.30.01.004 Full Set Unpolished
The OMEGA Speedmaster is, of course, one of the most iconic and important watches ever made. While it was originally introduced in 1957 for drivers in automotive racing, it would reach iconic status by eventually reaching spaceflight qualification by NASA amongst several of the highest grade chronographs of its era. The OMEGA Speedmaster is certainly one of the most iconic watches with a truly rich history of both exploration and sport.
This model is the cult classic "Tintin" reference 311.30.42.30.01.004. The rally-like red and white checkered minute track could be seen as a racing feature. According to OMEGA, it is in fact an homage to the rocket featured in the Belgian magazine Tintin’s cover of “Explorers on the Moon”.
The watch comes full set with box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
