ON Patek Philippe Reference 565 in Yellow Gold

The Patek Philippe reference 565 is a legendary watch that was one of the first water-resistant watches made by the manufacturer. Featuring a case with a screw-down case back made by Taubert & Fils who took over the Borgel company (noted with an FB over a key on the inside of the case back) as well as a distinctively-shaped large crown, these watches have a modernist design that remains extremely desirable to collectors today. This specific watch is a reference 565J, the J indicating a case produced in yellow gold. features a rare non-luminous dial with hour markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12. The dial also features the “long signature” meaning it says “PATEK PHILIPPE & Co.” In 1949, production switched for watches to then just say “PATEK PHILIPPE” on the dial. The case is 35mm in diameter (43mm lug-to-lug). The watch is powered by the calibre 12 SC and the watch was produced and sold in 1949.

This watch does not include the original box and papers. It does include an Extract from the Archives.
