HODINKEE: Charlie Dunne Cites Wind Vintage in Watch of The Week

Watch enthusiast Charlie Dunne recently contributed to HODINKEE’s latest column ‘Watch Of The Week’. Dunne discussed the history, and his love for the under-admired alarm watch, and how it has ultimately helped him to become more engaged within the watch community. Within the article, Dunne cites how his friend and watch expert, Eric Wind, had helped him discover incredible history of “the watch of the Presidents” through articles such as A Vulcain Cricket With Presidential (or Vice-Presidential?) Provenance and Your Complete Guide To The Watches Of United States Presidents.

Dunne wrote: “Upon finally acquiring one, with the help of vintage dealer and passionate Cricket collector Eric Wind, I would develop a deeper appreciation for the watch. I would also quickly learn that Crickets offer another dimension to appreciate, as each one seemingly can produce its own unique sound. Regardless of having the same calibre 120 or even having the same case style and/or material, each Cricket quite literally will have its own voice.”

Wind has had the pleasure of working directly with Charlie in curating a variety of Crickets, in addition to several other timepieces within his collection.
