Los Angeles Times: Eric Wind Quoted On Watch Theft in California
Sandy Banks wrote for Los Angeles Times about organized crime in California which targets residents wearing high-end timepieces in public. Referring to previous coverage of incidents Eric Wind recalled:
“It went viral in minutes…[Understandably, my clients in Los Angeles] are very nervous about this”
Banks would follow up with Wind on why collectors are so drawn to timepieces:
“Watches are a super interesting mix,” watch dealer Wind explained. “There’s the beauty element, the intricacies inside it, the scientific aspect, and the fashion side of how it looks.” So of course owners “want to show it off. You get your new watch and right away you’re on Instagram.”
