In June Eric Wind was honored to participate for the first time in HSNY’s Annual Charitable Auction by donating a Rolex Ref. 1500 circa 1980. The watch greatly outperformed its estimate of $3,000-$5,000 hammering in at $13,860 (the second highest of the auction). The lot winner received 4 additional Wind Vintage branded straps (made in collaboration with Nick Gabarro) and a travel springbar tool to accompany the beautiful 18K gold timepiece. All proceeds benefited HSNY's ongoing mission to advance the art and science of horology, which includes offering financial aid to watchmaking institutions and full-time watchmaking students in the United States.
