Rolex Big Red Daytona reference 6263 Black Dial Unpolished w/ Box
This Rolex Daytona reference 6263 is an incredible example with a very nice black “Big Red” dial. The dial is spectacular and the lume plots are fully intact, which is rare for vintage Daytonas. The hands and dial have a nice warm lume. The registers are a nice cream color.
It features the correct Mark III screw-down pushers. It is paired on an Oyster 78350 solid link bracelet with 571 end links that appears to be original. The case appears to be unpolished and is extremely crisp with some general wear This watch has a 8.8M case serial number dating to circa 1985. It is powered by the manual-wind movement Caliber 727 made by Valjoux and is 37mm in diameter. The pushers appear to be the original Mark 3 pushers with ridges and Rolex switched to these pushers in the circa 1981/1982 timeframe for steel Daytonas with screw-down pushers.
The comes with a vintage Rolex box that is period correct and probably original to the watch. It does not come with papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well and passed a water resistant check of 5 bar.
This is one of the nicest “Big Red” Daytonas we have ever had at a great price, so we don’t recommend waiting as I have no idea when we will find another like it at this price point.
