Rolex Daytona Reference 6239 w/ Box & Receipt + Extra Bracelet Unpolished

I’m thrilled to be offering this Rolex Daytona reference 6239. It is an early example with the absence of Daytona on the dial. It is in remarkable condition and leaves such an impression upon you when it is on the wrist. We believe the case is unpolished. The watch features the early “sandblasted” or “beadblasted” / brushed “300” variant bezel that is very crisp. These early brushed bezels are extremely uncommon to find in original condition and many had the brushing polished away over the years. The case features a 1.09M serial number dating it to circa 1964. Notably, this also has the original tritium lume plots on the outer track. It also has the super-rare and special early thin and long hour and minute hands.

The watch comes with box. It does not come with papers. It does come with the original receipt from its purchase in 1966. The owner requested two bracelets and time of purchase and the receipt indicates that. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.

The watch previously sold at Sotheby’s where it was consigned by the original owner or his family and his initials are on the case back. This is a true chance to own a very special, dare we say museum grade?, early example of the iconic Rolex Daytona.
