Rolex Explorer I "Mark 2" Reference 1016 Unpolished

This Rolex Explorer I is so remarkable that I am tempted to keep it. The Rolex Explorer reference 1016 is one of the purest expressions of watch design, and it is for this reason that I am probably asked for vintage Explorer reference 1016s more than any other watch. The watch features a 2.12M serial, dating the watch to circa 1969. This model features a "Mark 2” dial paired on a period correct bracelet with 580 end links dating to 1971. The case is 36mm in diameter and is unpolished. The watch recently was fitted with a TrueDome D22 crystal.
