Rolex Paul Newman Daytona Reference 6239 full Set

This is a rare Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona Reference 6239 with a spectacular white dial. It was originally sold at Kirk Jewelers Miami and comes from the original owner who was an attorney and comes with the original box and papers - an extremely uncommon thing to find in the world of the iconic Paul Newman Daytonas..

This example has a 1.98 million case serial, just before Paul Newman’s own Daytona that Paul himself wore which was slightly later 2.005M serial that went for $17.8M at auction in October 2017. The watch dates to circa 1969 and was sold in 1971 according to the original papers and the original owner. The Jubilee bracelet dates to October 1969, which makes sense for the longer time horizon of that time in terms of watches arriving to the store and then selling years later. This example has a “sing-a-song” T SWISS T below 6:00 that is smaller and goes up and down like a rollercoaster, just like on Paul

Overall, you could dedicate years looking for a beautiful early “Paul Newman'“ dial like the present example with the original box and papers. It is just not something you can find or source. The case is lightly polished, but very strong overall and I consider this one of the most beautiful “Paul Newman” Daytona examples I’ve held.

The watch comes with box and papers. This is a rare opportunity to find an outstanding example with white dial with box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well. The watch just passed a water resistance test of 2 bar.
