Rolex Two-Tone Datejust Reference 1600
I absolutely love the Rolex Datejust. I recently wrote about them in our blog ‘Don't Sleep On This: The Simple Vintage Rolex Datejust In Steel’. I’m constantly amazed by the quality and differentiations of the dials that Rolex used in vintage Datejusts over the decades.
Few watches exude classic cool like the Rolex Datejust. The steel and 18K gold combination portrays a certain level of accomplishment while still maintaining discretion.
The Datejust 1600 is a rare model. This particular reference 1600 has a brilliant champagne sunburst dial set with applied gold coronet and indexes, shielded by an acrylic crystal. It is complemented by an 18K smooth gold bezel. The original folded rivet style bracelet combined with the smooth bezel create a clean minimalist vibe. Priced at $6,800 this is an absolute bargain for a timepiece of this caliber. The watch dates to circa 1972. The case is unpolished.
It does not come with box and papers. The watch was just serviced and is water resistant to 5 bars.
