Seiko “Pogue” Chronograph
The Seiko “Pogue” chronograph is one of the most interesting and distinctive watches from the 1970s. They have earned the nickname the “Pogue” since Colonel William R. Pogue wore a similar watch during a NASA Skylab mission in 1973, making it the first automatic chronograph to be worn in space. These are wonderful watches on the wrist and very easy to wear. This is a rare “Resist” model, which is one of the earlier Pogues made and similar to the one that Colonel Pogue wore, although Colonel Pogue wore a 6139-6005 “Resist” model and this is a 6139-6002 “Resist” made for the international market. Later “Pogue” models did not have the “Resist” or earlier “Proof” text on the left side to indicate water resistance.
