Patek Philippe Reference 3940P

The Patek Philippe reference 3940P perpetual calendar is one of the most elegant complicated timepieces one can find in amongst all manufacturers. This particular example is in platinum and versatile for both formal and casual wear. The watch is powered by the self-winding calibre 240Q and dates to circa 2006. The case is 36mm, and it comes on what is most likely the original black alligator Patek Philippe strap and platinum deployant buckle. We believe the case is unpolished. The platinum examples have a solid case back only and do not have an additional sapphire exhibition case back.

This watch is not only notable for its condition, but it was worn by our friend Daniel Dae Kim in the FX / Hulu show The Premise, created by B.J. Novak. Daniel borrowed the watch from us as it seemed appropriate for a successful CEO of a financial firm to wear and it is clearly visible on the show.

The watch comes with a copy of the original Extract from The Archives.

Patek Philippe Reference 3941J "Unpolished & Full Set"

This Patek Philippe reference 3941 in yellow gold is a rare and uncommon model from the early period of the amazing reference 3940. Whereas the earliest examples of the Patek Philippe reference 3940 only had a solid case back, Patek Philippe introduced the reference 3941 as the exhibition case back only model. Starting in the early 1990s, Patek Philippe made the 3940 models have both exhibition and solid case backs except for the platinum model, which only had a solid case back for the entirety of its run.

The references 3940 and 3941 are arguably the most elegant Patek Philippe watches made over the last 40 years. The watch is powered by the self-winding calibre 240Q with microrotor. The case is 36mm, and it comes on tan strap with the original yellow gold Patek Philippe pin buckle. The case remains unpolished with crisp hallmarks, which is extremely rare for reference 3940s and 3941s.

The watch comes “full set” with box and papers, including the original Certificate of Origin with the Patek Philippe secret code “APNO” indicating production in October 1987. The Certificate states it was sold on December 17, 1987 in Stockholm, Sweden at a Patek Philippe retailer.

Rolex "Zenith” Daytona Reference 16528 “Unpolished”

The watch features its original dial with gorgeous creamy tritium lume. The case features a W serial dating to circa 1995. The case is very crisp and unpolished, which is insanely hard to find. This is one of the nicest vintage gold automatic Daytonas I have ever seen. The bracelet is original to the watch, tight, and also unpolished.

This watch does not include the original box and papers, has an automatic movement (Caliber 4030 made by Zenith), and is 40mm in diameter.

Rolex "Four-Line Zenith” Daytona Reference 16520

This is an outstanding example of a Rolex "Four-Line Zenith” Daytona reference 16520 with a serial dating it to circa 1988 - one of the earliest automatic Daytonas ever made. The “Zenith Daytonas” have appreciated significantly the last few years as people respect the modified Zenith El Primero movements that Rolex used for their first automatic Daytonas starting in 1988. The case has been lightly polished, but it is in very strong condition.

Four-Line Daytonas are extremely rare and say “Superlative Chronometer” and do not have a line saying “Officially Certified” as was found on the predecessor and successor versions of the 16520. It is surmised that Rolex was finding the amount of text on the dial a bit tedious for the predecessor “porcelain dial” versions. The white dial on this example is mint and beautiful.

This watch has good provenance and was found from the original owner. This watch also features the rare and original 200 bezel. On many of these early examples, the bezel has been swapped for a later 400 bezel during a service.

This watch includes a framed Rolex advertisement featuring the identical “Four-Line Daytona” found by our friend Nick of Ad Patina. It is neat to see this rare “Four-Line” variation in a vintage Rolex ad.This watch does not include the original box and papers, has an automatic movement (Caliber 4030 made by Zenith), and is 40mm in diameter.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a very special early automatic Daytona.
