Esquire: The Vintage Watch Podcast Highlighted

A couple of years ago, I was asked by Mr Porter if I’d be up for writing a guide to the podcasts “all watch guys should be listening to”. Happy to be asked and figuring the assignment sounded like fun, I said yes. The main thing was the deadline was far enough away to allow me to get around the only problem. I’d never listened to a watch podcast, so I wasn't in a position to offer any guidance. On the one hand, I was hardly the first journalist to accept a brief to tackle an unfamiliar subject – an outsider’s view is often what you want. On the other, there are loads of watch podcasts. And it wasn’t really something I could busk. So, I ended up listening to a lot of watch podcasts. It turned out to be a great commission, because two years later, I'm still listening to a lot of watch podcasts. I certainly try not to miss an episode of the best ones I found.
